By now we are all familiar with the Alpha personality type…if not a person than the term. Not as widely used a term but universally recognised, is the Beta type.
The Alphas are the Queen Bees, the Big Chiefs. The Alphas make the world go round. They push for more, strive and drive and shout out loud that it’s their way or the low way.
The Betas are the worker bees. The Betas make what the Alphas want, happen. The Beta type rows the boat that the Alpha captains…otherwise the boat stays docked. Going nowhere fast.
At the risk of coming across all New Age on y’all…Both personalities make up the balance of humanity…the whole yin yang thing BUT…what if you’re neither Alpha nor Beta. Not Queen (or King) Bee nor Drone. Not Leader nor Disciple.
What if what you are cannot be defined by a Yin Yang parallel. What if you’re the equidistant element? The element that makes the see-saw balance? The YinG?
