I love this…

 

 This is  The Sun Jar.

I bought this for my Husband (one of his Christmas presents)…because he is the sunshine of my life…but I have no wish to bottle him.  I love the idea of being able to capture the esSUNce of light wherever we are.

God I love sunlight.  I just love sunlight.

I’m all about equality.  But…whilst flying…my emphasis is on quality.  I fundamentally believe that the world should be a classless society except when it comes to;

1. school
2. legal action
3. dignity
4. travelling.

I’m just an iconoCLASSt…and this post makes no sense because it has now been edited  countless times since it was posted. 

I have this ‘thing’…when I’m sending out mass email -be it personal or newsletters, etc- I send to Undisclosed Recepients.  It’s not a trick.  There’s no secret, no skill, no talent required.  Just some thought to privaCC…

It’s just not PC (privacy correct) to be CC-een anymore people.  BCC or be seen.  Or is that the point?  I prefer to remain inbox-nito. 

We spent the last night of 2007 on our boat in Sydney Harbour and it was glorious.  Just my husband, our youngest and I…the older children were busy getting blurry…ahh youth…I’m sure I never misspent my youth in such a manner…oh look is that a pig up in the sky?? 

I’m not very good at taking night light images, haven’t quite figured out my camera’s night skills, that’s why the other pics are thumbnails! Click on them anyway to see what they look like. 

We woke up the next day at Watson’s Bay watching the ferries load away…and unload their cargo to and fro.  It was amazing to see.  The tide of people never ends.  They came to eat at Doyle’s -totally overrated but I guess the grease sops up the hangover!- and frolic on the beach.  Jan 01 was an amazing day, weather wise and Sydneysiders have been missing their Summer Day’s fix.

This is not something we usually do, spend NYE on the harbour…even though if you’re a boatie, it really is the ‘done thing’. We’ve never been big on the ‘done thing’….but we decided to be rebellious this year!  NYE, we are usually on our boat but as far away from Sydney Harbour as possible.  It’s total chaos in Sydney…traffic everywhere, land and sea.  With complete numbnuts behind the wheel…

Seriously.  How did these people pass their boat license tests?  Or did they??  Some simply have no idea which way is port, starboard, red or green!  Non-boaters; this is like not knowing which side of the road to drive on and just driving anywhere you feel like. You can always tell the seasoned boaties because we’re always giving way to the ‘newbies’.

By the way…if you ever want to see your tax dollars spent excessively…and see giant carbon footprints… be on the water on NYE.  My Lawd.  The water police, the coastguard, the Maritime Services, the kitchen sink, the Girl Guides…(I’m kidding about the Girl Guides), coppers in choppers perving in on highrises…all out in full…and I mean full Force.  I suppose with good reason.  You couldn’t see the crowd for the people.  huh? …but still.  It was just…excessive.  I understand and appreciate the need for it but oh the hypocrisy.

Excessiveness notwithstanding…it was truly a glorious evening.  The fireworks were spectacular.  Absolutely beautiful.  I’m sorry my video skills aren’t good either but have a look at the clip and apologies for the all the demented noises I’m making!  I seriously don’t sound like that.  I was in awe and intoxicated. (I’m a one sip wonder!)

…just briefly…I always feel guilty about enjoying a fireworks spectacle…the pollution, the excessiveness, the waste of money…but ahh the look on our youngest’s face…twas our Carbon Credits…

…for loving this gown?  It’s just sooooo beautiful…and although I’m not a big fan of Kate Hudson’s…she does wear it well…I’d wear it better though  

How do I feel about the lovely Ms Jolie?…I’m not too sure.  I think she’s far too serious but I also think she’s wonderful.  A total GAMMAZon…except her tattoos…urgh… make her look like an urban ghetto graffiti wall but I do love her reasoning and reasons behind having them upon her.  She’s very ‘do-able’ but far to freakin’ skinny.

Talk about Angeleaner!  Sex-on-a-literal-stick!…love this pic of her though…that’s a very Indian skirt she’s wearing but o Gawd those tattoos are hideous…

Why do I feel the need to express my blogging opinion of her?  Well, I watched the sorry but fantastic excuse for a film she and the Pitt made and I gotta tell ya…their sex scenes?…ouch… and yeah I received ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’- the unrated version as part of Santa’s Christmas haul.  Santa doesn’t censor.  Boy…there’s a reason ‘they’ cut these scenes out of the cinema release.  They’re kinda…ouch…not to mention voyeuristic.  I mean seriously, how can one not help but think…is that what they’re really like together?

…or are they strictly missionary and that was just an act?  Eek.  And were these scenes deleted to get a more user friendly rating (because of course it’s okay to subject children to graphic violence but not sex…oh no…) or because they would ‘upset’ the ex wife?  Hmm…same initials…AJ…JA…what does it all mean…??

Love that Jolie is this real life action dynamo with a philanthropic soul.  Love that she thinks one doesn’t have to give birh to be a mother…and I’m a bit over everyone being up in arms about her feelings for her biological child.  She has never said that she doesn’t love her biological child…only that she doesn’t love her more than she loves her (adopted) other children.

I completely understand that she feels it’s unfair that she gave birth to a child when there are so many orphaned or uncared for children needing love and care.  I completely understand why she got pregnant in the first place.  It was love.  It was the merging of that love and it’s a very overpowering feeling.  That need to to ‘create’  a tangible result.  I can understand her guilt at ‘giving in’ to what may feel like to her, a very selfish need.  To show ‘proof of love’, one needs to do it not produce it.  A child…a parent…doesn’t need the bond of flesh and blood to be loved and to love

…and I say this being the mother of 5 wonderful children and being completely head over heels in love with my husband.  I also say this because I know a biological mother who gave birth 5 times and hasn’t got a maternal bone in her body…but that’s another story and one I probably will never share…suffice to say…I know full well one doesn’t need the bond of blood to feel the bond of love.

Anyway…back to Angelina…I don’t really think she’s that good an actor…one facial expression wonder…but I love her as Lara Croft.  I’m not that big on actors being praised for their ‘craft’ anyway.  I don’t get it.  What she’s like as a person…well, having never had a conversation with her, I can only speculate.  Intense, very passionate, confident but a bit insecure, always on guard, Pitt gives her much needed lightness of being…I’m a bit over her ‘wild child’ reputation.  If you’re only rebelling to be rebelious…what’s the fucking point?

Apart from that whole “everyone wants to have sex with her” appeal…women don’t really want much to do with her.  I remember how Jennifer Anniston’s popularity rose with her relationship.  Pitt gave her cool cred.  Women’s magazines loved her…if she can ‘get’ a man like Pitt then there’s hope for everyone??  It was so hypocritical.  Anniston is a boring boring boring female.  Funny yes but…what?  Nothing.  What does she do with her celebrity to make this world a better place?  Fuckall.  However…women feel very ‘comfortable’ with her…she’s a female other females want to be friends with.  Because she doesn’t make them feel inadequate. 

Unlike Angelina.  Sad but true…all these women want to have sex with her but don’t want to befriend her. 

I think she and I would be good friends (improbable case scenario notwithstanding!)… for one simple reason.  Beautiful, accomplished, sensual, intelligent, philanthropic, talented women don’t intimidate me.  They make me feel better by association!

Don’t Wasabi and drive.

It’s a real bitch when it decides to do its thing.   It’s always good to have a clear head…but preferably before one gets behind the wheel of life.

Bet you the Tao doesn’t tell you that…sigh…the shallow depths of my propundity never fail to amuse amaze me…
